Horizon 2020 is the world’s biggest research and innovation programme, with nearly €80 billion of funding available (2014 to 2020), providing support for world-class science, the search for solutions to societal problems, and the use of a variety of scientific solutions to take the lead in industry. The SME Instrument is a Horizon 2020 financing opportunity that is aimed explicitly at young companies that have innovative ideas but lack financial instruments.
During a tough competition (on average, 4–5% of applications were successful across Europe whereas 25% of applications proposed by CoreGrow received funding), two Estonian proposals received grants. CoreGrow, in cooperation with THE Systems (an electronics development company), was one of the two successful applicants.
The project is aimed at developing technology to secure the safety of gas pipelines in urban areas. Now, as part of the project, a feasibility analysis will be run in order to prepare for full-scale development.
If you are interested in cooperating as part of Horizon 2020 programmes, or if you would like to receive further information on how to successfully implement your innovative ideas, you are welcome to contact our partner Mart Moora (firstname.lastname@example.org).
